Dorathea B. Schmidt, 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Douglas Manor.
Dorathea was born on February 20, 1932 in Ashland, KY to the late Joseph and Bernice (Butler) Schmidt. Dorathea worked in the medical field at different offices in New London, CT. She retired after fourteen productive years as a medical secretary with Dr. Donald Sprafke, MD. Her sharp mind combined with an altruistic spirit brought comfort to all who came in contact with her, she could be depended upon to get the job done. Her wonderful instincts, valuable intuition and generous heart shone through in everything she did. She was a giver to all of her children and friends.
Dorathea is survived by one brother, Joseph; two sons, Lawrence and Jed; two daughters, Tara and Rachel; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
We will all cherish her memory, Rest in Peace, Dorathea. There are no calling hours, and a memorial will be held at a later date for family and friends.
