Debora (Dick) Brown

It is with mixed sadness and joy that we announce the passing of Debora Brown this past Sunday, June 9th, 2019. She has gone before us into the presence of her Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ, whom she loved and adored and served with all of her heart. She was affectionately known as “Miss Debbi” or “Mama Debbi” and will be remembered throughout Willimantic as a woman with a generous heart. She took great pleasure in serving as a crossing guard for the past 15 years. She also volunteered in the grandparent’s program within the Windham school system. She was greatly loved by all of her “kids”.

She is survived by 2 brothers – Mark Hawthorne of Quaker Hill, CT and Peter Hawthorne, of Waterford, CT.  She is also survived by a granddaughter.  A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at Abundant Life Community Church, 980 Main St. Willimantic, CT on Saturday, June 22nd at 3 pm.  In lieu of flowers please consider donating to The Benevolent Fund of ALCC. A memorial garden will be planted in her honor. Other initiatives, especially for children, will be taken that would have blessed her heart. Contributions can be sent to P.O. Box 108 Willimantic, CT or given in person at the memorial service.
