Daniel “Dan” Gerard Caron, 68, of Eden, North Carolina, passed away Thursday morning, June 13, 2019, at his home.
Dan was born November 5, 1950, in Willimantic, CT, and was raised in Mansfield, CT, where he attended school and graduated from E. O. Smith in 1968. In 2008 he was proud to have been Baptised at the Hillcrest Baptist Church in Galax, Virginia. Dan was a “Jack of all trades” and could build, rebuild or fix anything, and was a car and motorcycle enthusiast. His greatest joy was his family and friends. Dan was most proud of being the owner and operator of International Commercial Loan, LLC. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Laura Rugg Caron of Eden, NC; son, Gerard “Gerry” Caron of Mansfield, CT; mother, Lorraine C. Caron of Oriedo, FL; two sisters, Suzanne Benoit of Oriedo, FL and Rosanne Caron-Thompson of Hutchinson Island, FL; a step sister Suzanne Brulotte of Sherbrooke, Canada; a step-son Philip Richard (Jessie) of N. Windham, CT; two step-daughters, Tracy Bergin of Sanford, NC and Amy Bonney (Todd) of N. Windham, CT; three step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Dan was preceded in death by his father, Gerard Caron.
Dan’s family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, June 22, 2019, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with a Funeral Service at 11:00 at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic, CT, followed by interment at St. John Cemetery, Route 12 South, Plainfield, CT.
