Daena Bailey Parmenter

On Sunday, October 21st, our precious daughter, Daena Bailey Parmenter earned her heavenly wings, and is now in the arms of Our Loving God. Daena was born in Boston, MA. August 9th, 2001 and spent her life in Columbia, CT. with her parents, sister, cat, and fish. She graduated 8th grade from Horace W. Porter School and was currently attending RHAM High School. Daena loved her extended family, cats Daisy &Sassy, friends, teachers, medical team, babies, music & movies, creating stories, cooking/cooking shows & glitter! Daena also had a strong faith and loved her Church family. In 2007, friends from Columbia H.O.G. started Daena’s Run in support of Little Hearts Inc. Daena raised tens of thousands of dollars for charities such as Little Hearts, Make-A-Wish, and PAWS. In 2014, Daena and her family were granted a Make-A-Wish Trip to California to meet Mia Talerico from the TV show, ‘Good Luck Charlie’. Despite Daena’s life long medical challenges, she was a strong, beautiful, courageous, brave, amazing girl. She brought joy to everyone she met and leaves many friends behind. Daena was predeceased by her cousin Kyle Puttin, of South Windsor and survived by her parents David and Denise; sister Darien; grandparents Fredrick and Sandra Parmenter (Moodus), Ronald and Kay Toce (E. Hartford); aunts and uncles Lee and Kelly Puttin and Heidi Toce (S. Windsor), Jim and Nicole Winnie (Andover), and Fred Parmenter Jr. (Millbury, MA); cousins Katelyn, Cameron, Jacob, Arianna, and Allison. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday October 27th @ 9:30 am. at Columbia Congregational Church, in Columbia, CT. The service will be followed by ‘A Celebration of Life’ at the Lakeview Restaurant in Coventry from 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the Legacy Endowment Fund at Columbia Congregational Church, Make-A-Wish Connecticut, Little Hearts, Inc. or the Hole in The Wall Gang Camp.
