Cynthia Jane (Sauter) Kindl

October 29, 1938 ~ December 19, 2018 (age 80) 80 Years Old

Cynthia Jane (Sauter) Kindl, 80, of Scotland, wife of Robert O. Kindl, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Hartford Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Manchester, CT on October 29, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Gladyce (Schieldge) Sauter. Cindy grew up in Manchester and was a graduate of Manchester High School. She attended the University of Connecticut and Morse School of Business and was employed by the old Connecticut Bank and Trust Company and rose to become assistant treasurer in the accrual department. Cindy and Bob met at a 50th family anniversary party in June of 1971, where they discovered that their parents’ cousins were related through marriage. Cindy and Bob were then married in October of 1972. Cindy inherited a talent for decorating and flower arranging from her mother. She thoroughly enjoyed decorating their 18th century home and spent many spring and summer hours tending her perennial, annual and wild flower gardens.

Cindy and Bob enjoyed going to country estate auctions over many years where they made many acquaintances and lifelong friends.

In the summer, trips were made to Tanglewood to hear the BSO open rehearsal followed by a picnic on the great lawn. Fall trips included foliage rides into Massachusetts and Vermont and a week in Cape Cod.

Cindy experienced a major stroke in 2014. She underwent rehabilitation and through determination and persistence, she was able to resume near normal activities.

In addition to her husband, Cynthia is survived by her cousin Jean Clay of Vernon, CT. Cindy will be deeply missed and loved by all that knew her, especially her husband Bob.

The family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, January 11, 2018 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St, Willimantic, CT.
