Charles J. Puleo

Charles J. “Chuck” Puleo, Jr., 89, of Willimantic, CT, died peacefully on November 30, 2017 at Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation surrounded by family.  He was the husband of the late Jeanette (Boisvert) Puleo.  They were married for 49 years before her death in February 1996.  Chuck was born May 22, 1928, in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Charles Sr. and Mary (Capasso) Puleo.  He was a military veteran having served in the Merchant Marines during World War II and the Army during the Korean War.  He retired from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford and was a dedicated family man often working more than one job to support his family of five children.  He is survived by daughter Nancy Puleo of Scarborough, ME; son Jim Puleo of Hampton, CT; son and daughter-in-law Steven “Jay” and Regina Puleo of Lebanon, CT; daughters-in-law Amy Puleo of Bath, ME and Michelle Puleo of Fredericksburg, VA; grandchildren Jaime Puleo, Sarah Puleo, Ethan Feller, Ember Feller, Brooke Puleo, Katelyn Puleo, Russell Puleo and Anna Puleo; great-grandchildren Eloise, Willa, and Finn Puleo-O’Connell; as well as several nieces and nephews.  Chuck was predeceased by two sons:  Michael Puleo and Brian “Buddy” Puleo, parents-in-law Donat and Angeline Boisvert; brothers-in-law Aldor, Philip, Laurier “Larry”, and Edward Boisvert; and sisters-in-law Louise Simmons, Lucille Sentener, Claire Giordano and Evelyn Joly.  The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation for all of the support and compassionate care given Chuck by all of the staff at Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation where he resided since February 2015 and to Dr. Victorio Te.  All are welcome to join the family at a graveside burial service with full military honors on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the New Willimantic Cemetery, Rte. 32, Willimantic CT.  For an online memorial guestbook, please visit www.potterfuneralhome.com.
