Welcome to the memorial page for

Bruce Francis Reed

September 9, 1964 ~ June 8, 2018 (age 53) 53 Years Old

Bruce Francis Reed, 53, of Windham, CT passed away Friday, June 08, 2018. He was born on September 09, 1964 in Putnam, CT to Rodney and Claire Copeland Reed. Bruce was a loving father, partner, son and brother. He was proud to work as an EMT and Field Training Officer with American Ambulance Services where he was known as “Dude” to everyone. His life’s passion of becoming an EMT was inspired as a young man, with him approaching a car accident with an infant involved and Bruce not knowing how to help. That accident sparked the passion and dedication that never ended with him also being a past member of the North Windham Fire department. He always put others needs before his own.

Bruce would agree that he could best be described as a kid in a man’s body who indulged in hobbies over the years that include: paintball, fishing, riding his Harley and flying his RC helicopters and airplanes.

Bruce is survived by his father, Rodney Reed of Florida; his significant other, April Shepaum; daughters, Autumn Reed Berry and her husband Marc, Julissa Shepaum; granddaughter, Elizza Berry; brothers, Andy Baker, Dale Baker, Stafford Baker, Rodney Reed and sister, Melody Reed Wylie. He is predeceased by his mother, Claire Reed and sister, Claire Reed Stratton.

The family will receive relatives and friends Wednesday, June 13, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte.195) Willimantic, CT.
