Aida Flores died on September 14, 2019, with Carlos, her loving husband of 45 years, by her side. She is survived by her mother, Carmen L. Suarez, her sister, Vivian, and brother, Jorge.
Aida was the matriarch of the family. She imparted her wisdom and guidance to her five children Carlos Javier, Carlos Ivan, Cynthia, Camille, James Carlos, and 16 grandchildren. She valued family and cherished all opportunities she had with them.
She came to Connecticut with five young children and minimal understanding of the language. However, she had a fierce independence and perseverance that is still admired today. She filled the room with joy and laughter. She helped develop multi-generations of Willimantic families through her 30 years of service in the Windham Public Schools.
Aida was an avid dominoes player. As a member of La Socidad, Aida was always seen smiling, joking, and playing with her sister multiple days a week. The family gives their greatest appreciation to all those whose lives were connected to her.
