Ruth (Hardman) Blair, 84, of Mansfield, widow of Roland A. Blair, died Saturday, February 5, 2005 at the Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born March 9, 1919 in Pennsylvania. She was employed at the Electro Motive, Valley View Nursing Home and for many years at the Mansfield State Training School. She was an avid bingo player and spent many happy hours enjoying her gardens. She is survived by her three children, Judith E. Blair of Coventry CT., Edward R. Blair and his wife Alison W. of Mansfield CT, and their eight children, Michael, Carrie and her husband Gregg Lawrence, Stacey, Eden, Kimberly, Ariel, Joanne and Luke; Sandra B. Lamotte and her husband Joseph A. of Plainfield CT., and their two children Kathleen and Julia and two great grandchildren Desirae and Benjamin. Of nine children in her family she has one surviving sister, Mae Zentz and her husband Robert of Maryland, and two sisters-in law Evelyn Sciro of Pawcatuck CT and Helen Boucher of Willimantic CT. The family will receive friends on Tuesday Feb. 8, 2005 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson Street, Willimantic. There will be a gathering at the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:15am prior to the procession to her 10:00am Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham. The Family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to either the Eagleville Fire Department, 879 Stafford Road, Mansfield CT 06268 or Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, 100 Warren Circle, Mansfield, CT 06268.
