Rosamond Marie Gates

Rosamond Marie Gates, 90, of Mansfield, wife of the late Charles Gates, died Wednesday, June 14, 2006 in Mansfield. She was born February 25, 1916 in Putnam, the daughter of Michael and Ella (Wright) Donahue and had lived most of her life in Willimantic. She was a life member of the Women of the Moose and prior to her retirement had been employed for many years at UConn. She is survived by 5 grandchildren, Barbara Samson and her husband Bob, Debbie Samson, Patricia Mekuto, Joseph Beaudry Jr., all of Willimantic, William Beaudry and his wife Cindy of Tampa, FL, a grandson-in-law, John Mekuto of Ellington, 11 great grandchildren including Tricia Mekuto of Windham and 8 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by 2 daughters, Alma Wolford and Barbara Gates, a great grandson John Mekuto Jr. and a great great grandson Kristian Adamo. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic on Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the New Willimantic Cemetery.
