Paula Lee Schiller, 61, of Guilford, CT., passed away at Connecticut Hospice in Branford on October 26, 2010. Paula was the loving and nurturing daughter of Frank and Bertha Schiller, sister of Gene Schiller and aunt to Jon and Jeremy Schiller. Paula was a graduate of Vassar College in New York, held masters degrees from both Rensselear and Wesleyan Universities and was and executive at SNET for most of her life. In her retirement, she was a volunteer, supporter and activist for several causes including the Women & Family Life Center in Guilford, the Friends of CT State Parks, the Guilford Art Center, the Rivers Alliance, the Literacy Volunteers of Greater New Haven, Guilford Youth Mentoring, the Shoreline Institute on Lifelong Learning, the CT Farmland Trust Preservation Society and the Friends of Hammonasset. She donated her time and resources to improving the lives of others, especially her parents and the environment of Connecticut. There are no calling hours. A graveside service will take place on Friday October 29th at 2:00pm at Temple Bnai Israel Cemetery, at the intersection of Rte. 31 and Rte. 32 in Mansfield, CT. Shiva will be observed at the home of Frank and Bertha Schiller, 38 Woodmont Dr., Mansfield on Saturday after sundown and Sunday from 1:00 to 6:00pm.
