Ivo J. Guarco, 80, of North Windham died Monday April 21, 2014 at Hartford Hospital. Born in Italy on August 31, 1933, Ivo emigrated to the U.S. as a child, and spent his life in the Willimantic area. Son of the late Domenico and Giovanna (Tambornini) Guarco, Ivo lived in Willimantic, and later moved to Windham after marrying his wife of 39 years, Camille (Romano) Guarco. Together they raised two children, Carol and Frank. Ivo worked over 30 years in the central warehouse of the University of Connecticut (Storrs), and after retiring from there, held a part time job at Big Y in Mansfield for the next ten years. He enjoyed spending his free time with family, friends and his three grandchildren - Kyle, Katherine and Keira. Ivo leaves behind his wife Camille of North Windham, his daughter Carol Myers and husband Robert Myers of Waterford, CT, his son Frank Guarco and wife Kimberly Guarco of Plainville, CT and their 3 children. Special thanks to Kirsten McCarthy, Gerry Sledjeski and Pauline Wingertsman for helping the family through this trying time. He was predeceased by his aforementioned parents, step mother Pauline LaTerra, and step brothers John and Joe LaTerra, and Camille's parents Edith and Frank Romano. Family and friends may gather at St. Joseph Cemetery, Club Rd., Windham at 10:30 am Friday April 25th for a graveside service and burial. There are no calling hours.
