Ida Elizabeth (Turberville) Adamcik, 79, of Easthampton, MA., died unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday Jan. 6, 2004. She was a resident of the Lathrop Community where she had enjoyed living since January 2002. She was born the youngest daughter of Alvin and Alice Turberville in Monroeville, AL. It was in Alabama, in 1946, where she met a young soldier who was to be her husband of over 50 years, John R. Adamcik. They moved to his home in Coventry, CT., where she raised their family , tended to the farm and were communicants of St. Mary's Church. She and her husband retired in 1972, moving to Keystone Heights, Florida, where they enjoyed 30 years of life together, frequently traveling and visiting family and friends. After the death of her husband, she decided to move back north to Easthampton, MA. to be near her sons and their families. She made many new friends there and continued to be a loved and loving person, always ready to offer a helping hand and a smile. She leaves 2 sons and their families; Robert M. Adamcik and his life partner Brian P. Cabral of Provincetown, MA., and David A. Adamcik and his wife Katherine and their children Christopher J. and Elizabeth Q. Adamcik of Northampton, MA. She also leaves many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and great great nieces and great great nephews living in Alabama and throughout the east . She will be greatly missed and long remembered by all whose lives she touched. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic, CT. on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30am prior to the procession to her 11:00am Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, 1600 Main St. Coventry.
