Anne Hastings

Anne (Rustek) McCain Hastings, of Baltic, passed from this life on June 1, 2005. She was born in Portland, CT on July 6, 1927, beloved daughter of Frank and Mary Bryzinski Rustek. She leaves her daughter, Marie McCain, her sister, Helen Rustek Schulz and husband, Albert, her brother John Rustek and wife, Tessie, sisters-in-law, Dorothy Rustek and Ann Rustek as well as her granddaughters, Carol Clement, Rebecca Chalifoux, and Sarah Robinson. Anne was so very proud of her great grandchildren, Kelly Robinson, Brandon and Amy Chalifoux, Denis Haddad, Angelika Clement, and Christopher Scott. Anne was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Kenneth Hastings, brothers, Stanley, Valentine Farmer, Peter, and Frank Rustek, sister, Rose Rustek Wolak and granddaughter, Donna Robinson Haddad. Anne graduated from St. Mary s School in Portland; after high school she married William McCain, devoting herself to home and family. Her work career also included involvement in the 60 s space programs with Pratt and Whitney and Raymond Engineering as well as a nursing career in eldercare. In her retirement she enjoyed collecting antiques, in particular, cobalt blue glass, and volunteering at the Baltic town library. Anne was an enthusiastic member of the Three Rivers Community College Elderhostel Program, taking courses in genealogy and ethnic studies. Anne s memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church, 667 Main Street, Willimantic CT on Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at 11:00am.
