The staff members at Potter Funeral Home are committed to providing your family with the finest funeral services and products available. They are available to help you 24 hours per day seven days a week. The staff is led by Glenn Blumenstein and Brian Romanowski. Glenn and Brian are college roommates who fulfilled a dream of having their own business with the purchase of Potter Funeral Home. Both have many years of experience as licensed funeral directors. Both men are proud to join the community and have been humbled by the warm reception they have received.


Brian Romanowski

Co-owner

Brian Romanowski, is 41 years old. He was married for 15 years, and has three children. His oldest daughter who is now 26, is married and has presented Brian with a beautiful grandson, Keaton. He also has a son who is 19 and is attending aviation school in Tulsa, OK, and his youngest daughter is 17 and about to start her first year of college in Texas. Brian has been a funeral director for over 10 years.  Although Brian misses his kids as they have left to start their adult lives, he is strengthened by their support as he builds a new life in Connecticut.

Glenn Blumenstein

Co-owner

Glenn R. Blumenstein is 39 years old. He is married to Tiffany Blumenstein who, he is proud to say, served our country for over a decade in the U.S. Army. In April, 2013 his wife gave birth to their son, Levi Glenn, who has filled their lives with great joy. Glenn was active in their congregation in Texas and served as a vice president of the Board of Directors at Temple Chai. Of all of his professional accomplishments he is most proud to be a funeral director. He understands the change in the lives of families who have lost a loved one, and is dedicated to helping them honor their loved one in a way that they will remember fondly. It is this dedication to what he does that he carries with him every time he meets with a family.

Christopher Gromko

Funeral Director

Chris is a graduate of Briarwood College in Southington and has been a licensed funeral director since 1995. He has been employed by the funeral home since 1996 . Chris grew up in Norwich and lives with his wife and children in Canterbury.

Paul Cichon

Director emeritus (former owner)

Paul may be retired from Potter Funeral Home but his influence continues. He made a lasting impact in this community in his almost forty years as a funeral director here. His compassion and caring will not be forgotten by the scores of families he served. 

John Griffin

John is a lifelong resident of Willimantic and is retired from the Willimantic Fire Department after 30 years as a professional fire fighter. He mans our front door now during calling hours and stands ready to help you in any way necessary.

Gail Nelson Smith

Nelson was born in Windham and is retired from the Connecticut State Police.  He currently resides in Columbia and is an active member of the Masonic Fraternity. Nelson is a nephew of the late Russell W. Potter, founder of the funeral home. You will find him ready to assist you at the front door of the funeral home during calling hours and he also assists at funeral services.

Xiomara C Bruder

Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico Xiomara's first language is Spanish. She began learning English when her family moved and eventually settled in Willimantic, Connecticut.  A graduate of Windham Tech and Brandford Hal. Xiomara spent seven years working in the Windham courts.  Although she is new to the funeral home she enjoys helping families we serve and is especially proud that her Spanish skills help the funeral home to better serve the Hispanic communities . As a mother of seven beautiful children, Xiomara her husband and her enjoy spending their free time with them and the extended family in the area.  


Peter Babcock

Peter was raised in Lyme and has resided in eastern Connecticut for most of his life, currently living in Hampton. Many will remember him as a service writer/manager for many years at an automobile dealership in Willimantic.  His entry into funeral service began with employment in the burial vault business and later became certified as a crematory operator. Today Peter will be found on most services as a funeral assistant helping families, many of which he has come to know over the years of living and working in the area.
