Thomas H. Reichel

Thomas Henry Reichel, age 66 of Storrs, CT passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2017. Tom was born on August 9, 1951 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Carol Reichel; daughter, Kara Reichel; grandson, Kelden Cahill; his mother, Ruth Reichel; sister, Lynn Reichel all of Storrs, CT; sister, Pamela Reichel; niece, Marissa Grant and her husband Todd Grant and great nephews Jarrod and Landon Grant all of Coventry, CT. Tom's extended family includes daughters, Wendy and Shanon; granddaughter, Josephine and grandsons, Talon and Kaden. He also leaves behind his much loved godson Izaiah Flubacher. He was preceded in death by his loving father, Henry Reichel, Jr.
Tom was an avid fisherman, never missing an opening day and always catching his limit. He enjoyed sports especially the Red Sox, Patriots, and UCONN Huskies. Tom really liked watching movies with his family especially the Matrix Trilogy and enjoyed day trips and vacations to the beach with his family. He was a 1969 graduate of E. O. Smith High School and attended Eastern Conn. State University for three years where he exceled in sports including baseball and basketball. He took pride in being a self-employed painter and working with his many clients whom also became his friends. A memorial service for Tom will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at the Storrs Congregational Church, 2 North Eagleville Rd. Storrs, CT at 11:00 am
