Robert Aime Marrotte, 83, of Willimantic, Connecticut peacefully passed away on March 20, 2017 in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida where he has lived since 1978.

Robert was born in Willimantic on November 7, 1933. After high school, he served our country in the U.S. Navy. After leaving the Navy, he worked for various construction companies. He then started a long career working with the U.S. Department of Agriculture as a Civil Engineer Technician, where he retired in 1995 with over 30 years of service.

Robert was married to Josephine R. Eichner Marrotte on July 4, 1957; they were married for 59 years.

Throughout his life, Robert enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family, he loved travelling across our beautiful country with his wife and family, boating, camping, fishing, golfing, puttering around doing yard work and taking care of his house. He was a lifetime member of the Elks.

Robert was an incredibly friendly man and never met a person that he didn’t like. He would talk to everyone who he came in touch with, so he had many friends. He will be greatly missed by all.

Robert is survived by his wife, Josephine, and his three boys, Richard D. Marrotte, Michael A. Marrotte and Thomas L. Marrotte; his five grandchildren, Ashley, Michael, Andrew, Brandon and Nicholas; his four sisters, Evelyn, Lorraine, Joan and Beverly and the rest of his family and friends.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Aime Marrotte and Marie R. LaPlante and his brother Richard.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations, In Memory of Robert, may be given to the American Association of Kidney Patients, 14440 Bruce B. Downs Blvd, Tampa, FL 33613. The family of Robert Marrotte wishes to thank Kindred Hospital The Palm Beaches, Trustbridge Hospice of Florida, Potter Funeral Home and St. Mary Church.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 24, 2017 at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic, CT. There will be a procession to St. Mary Church, 46 Valley Street, where the Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow the service at St. Joseph Cemetery on Club Road, North Windham, CT.
