Rita Williams, beloved wife of Kenneth Williams, 76, of Scotland, CT, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2017 at Backus Hospital in Norwich. She was born October 30, 1940 in Willimantic to the late Roland and Jeannette Gamache. Rita grew up in Willimantic and graduated from Windham High School. Rita and Ken married and started their lives together in South Windham and eventually moved and settled in Scotland.
Rita worked for many years as a paraprofessional at the Scotland Elementary School. She enjoyed arts and crafts, reading, cooking, UConn Women's Basketball, and spending time with her close friends, Liz and Ronald Schuler and Joyce Beaumont. Rita especially cherished vacationing with her brother Henri and sister in law Nancy at Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire.
Along with her husband, Kenneth, she leaves her children, Laurianne Lincoln and her husband Todd, Kenny Williams and her daughter in law Shirley Rector. She also leaves her brother Henri Gamache and his wife Nancy, her sister Theresa Hlobik and sister Doris Lessard and her husband Dave. She leaves two grandchildren Stephen and Ryan Lincoln and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
