Chipper! CHIPPER! Put down that damn phone! Speaking of phones, you said you were gonna text me once you arrived at the PEARLY GATES! That's alright, I'm sure there were a lot of traffic jams on the way there, right? Anyway, you always forgave me, so I guess I can forgive you ... AGAIN. Hey! It's been over three years now, but we all still miss you. God loves ya, brother ... and so do we. OH, BY THE WAY, HOW'S THE WEATHER UP THERE IN HEAVEN? Just kidding!! I'm thinking of your family, and I pray that they're doing real well. Peace, Billy

Much time has passed and I thought about you all, how Chip left me a memory as a protector. Keeping we Shea Girls safe from people who would intend harm. The memory in detail doesn't belong here, but it is one that shows how passionate Chip was to our block and all of us kids.

Thank you Chip for being there. Watch over your family now, they need you the most, I've got it from here now.

My love to you Reatha, Phil, Kirk, Jack and your families.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of my dear classmate and friend, Chipper. I believe Chip was one of the few who knew all 730 members of NFA’s class of 1965. It was wonderful to see him at the 50th graduation event and to communicate with him on Facebook. His kind spirit and genuine character inspired all who met him and his passing will leave a huge hole in our hearts. My prayers go out to Chip’s family and friends in their time of sorrow.

To Phil and family, my wife Kelly and I would like to offer our sincere condolences for your lost. As teenage athletes, you and I experienced a lot between American Legion and high school baseball. We formed a great friendship and shared great memories. Because of that friendship, I had the pleasure of coming to your house and meeting your family, simply great people. I will remember those great times and I hope you find time to remember the great times you had with your Dad.

I read a Buddhist saying the other day that read "you think there's always time". Well, there isn't any time here with Chipper any longer but the times that we did spend with him are all happy memories. Chip was a loving man with a big heart. Rest in Peace, Chipper. I hope you get to meet and sing with Teddy Pendergrass in the Great Beyond. With love to Reatha, Phil, Kirk, Jack and families. Cindy & Joe

I was 13 years old when we met, Chip. You came to the house and demonstrated "The Twist" by Chubby Checker to my Parents and me. Never forgot that moment. Although we didn't cross paths much after that, I always thought of my childhood friends. You were a wonderful person. I am very sorry you had to part from your loved ones.

Don't cry for me today,
I wouldn't want it this way.
Be strong and smile,
for you will see me in a while.
I know you miss me,
but now in Heaven I will be.
Do not keep your sad face,
I am in a much better place.
Do not let your tears fall,
for I cannot wipe them all.
Yes, my life wasn't long.
But I'm begging you to be strong.
Live every moment as if it were your last,
I won't forget any memories that have passed.
Cherish life and love as I watch you from above.
As I remember all of the good things,
I come to see I have gotten my wings.
It is time to go and fly,
as your guardian angel I will try.
Don't cry for me today,
I'm on my way.
Soaring through the sky,
I watch all of you telling me goodbye.
