Mr. McClure was my favorite Veteran and I was happy to assist him in any way he needed. I visited his quite frequently while he was staying at the VA in West Haven. Even my grand-daughter, Leanna, came along and brought a great big smile to Mr. McClure's face. I will sadly miss him but will always remember him as I look at the cards he has given to me throughout the years I new him at the VA. I will miss his giggle. He was like a dad to me and I will miss him dearly !!!!

Uncle Maurice always had a smile and a hand out to help whoever needed it. He will live on in my heart and memories. While we weep here because he will be missed, Heaven is rejoicing to welcome home such a beautiful person. Love you always Uncle!

"Once a Marine, always a Marine" - that was my Uncle Maurice. Strong, supportive, loving of his country and family. If you needed a helping hand or some sage advice... there he was. I will always be thankful for what a wonderful brother he was to my Mom. When she died, Uncle Maurice was there at her house in Florida to help me and my daughter sort through her paperwork, and address the house flooding we faced on Super Bowl night when we returned from dinner out. He was there to keep us calm and oversee the emergency clean up company in the middle of the night. Seems like yesterday I was the little girl whose cheeks he playfully pinched and tweaked my nose - that's the memory I will always have of him. Uncle Maurice, please say "Hi" to Mom for me.

No man can be truly gone as long as one person is left who remembers him. And I will remember Sandy's Uncle Maurice as long as I live.
