Mary Masi, 88, of Willimantic, went to her eternal rest on June 4, 2017 after a brief battle with cancer. She was born to the late Anthony and Marguerite Woods and was a lifelong resident of Willimantic having attended St. Joseph’s elementary school, Windham High School and later The Morse School of Business. While working for the Social Security Administration office in Willimantic Mary met her future husband Ugo with whom she would have two children, Joanne and Jeff. She then worked for 30 years as the secretary of Sweeney School where she made many lifelong friends. After retirement, she enjoyed regular lunch outings where they would catch up and reminisce about their former exploits.

Mary enjoyed baking, knitting, crochet and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed watching sports, especially the local New England pro teams. Mary was a kind and generous woman and we will miss her immensely.

She is survived by her husband, Ugo Gino Masi; daughter, Joanne Hanson (Karl); son, Jeff Masi; grandchildren, Jennifer Burrell and Amy Desjardins and great grandchildren Joshua Burrell, Ashley Burrell and Jacob Finn. Mary also leaves behind her beloved niece, Susan Haddad; nephews, Anthony Prue, Paul Masi and Steven Masi; sister-in-law Ann Masi and many second nieces and nephews and wonderful friends. She was predeceased by her parents, her sister, Lucille Prue; nephews, Michael Prue and Robert Masi; brothers-in-law Clarence Prue, Raphael Masi, Mario Masi, Anthony Masi and Guido Masi and in-laws Rocco and Concetta Maria Masi.

We would like to thank St. Joseph Living Center for their generous and thoughtful care during her brief stay as wells as Dr. Charles Shooks who cared for her for many years.
