Mary Helen (Nacsin) Konikowski, 91, of Willimantic, beloved wife of the late Frank J. Konikowski, passed away peacefully Monday, July 10, 2017, at home in the presence of loved ones. The daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Junior) Nacsin, Mary was born at home on August 15, 1925. She was a lifelong resident of Willimantic. Mary was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Willimantic and an active member of the St. Joseph's Women's Club for many years. Mary's early hobbies were dancing and roller skating. Fashion was a passion as she kept up with the latest fashion trends. Most of her life was spent as a loving, stay-at-home mother. She happily spent most summer months at the Lyman Rhode Island cottage with her children, sister, Anna May, as well as her nieces and nephew. She always enjoyed her summer birthday trip to the shore with her daughter, Karen. Mary continued watching the daily mass on TV when she was no longer able to attend mass at St. Joseph Church. Mary was a very loving and supportive wife and mother. Her thoughts were always of the happiness and well being of her husband, children and grandchildren. Mary was most looking forward to welcoming her first great-grandchild, due in October. Mary leaves behind her daughter, Karen Nass and her husband Craig (Columbia), a son, Ken Konikowski and his wife Linda (Tolland), a grandson, Kevin Konikowski and his wife, Jennifer, (Pittsburgh, PA), and her granddaughter, Laura Rankl, and her husband Brandon, (Vernon); a sister, Anna May Lyman (Eagleville/Mansfield), and her brother, George Nacsin (Franklin). She was predeceased by three brothers, Steve Nacsin, Andrew (Spike) Nacsin, and Johnny Nacsin. The family would like to gratefully thank her special loving caregiver, Theresa, who spent two years being by her side.
