Juana Colon Cruz

Juana Colon Cruz, 74, of Willimantic, wife of Wilfredo Antonetty, died at home April 17, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico to the late Juan Colon and Antonia Cruz. She was a very strong woman. Juani loved and cared for her family deeply. She fought cancer for eighteen and a half years. She was always willing to help everyone and was very well known by the community for the past forty years, twenty-two of those years being a foster parent. In addition to her husband Wilfredo, she is survived by four children; Damaris Ruiz, Geraldo Ruiz and his wife Yaritza, Jose Colon and his wife Jackie Flores, and Exequiel Antonetty, as well as twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; six brothers and sisters, and many nieces, nephews, and foster children. A celebration of Juani’s life will be held on Sunday, April 22, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at her home at 77 Ives St. in Willimantic.
