Joel Patrick Hebert passed away on March 13, 2017 in La Quinta, CA where he made his home for the last five years. Born in Willimantic, CT on September 1, 1962, he was predeceased by his father the late Patrick Hebert of Columbia, CT and is survived by his mother, Ouida Hebert of New Brunswick, Canada, his son, Joel Hebert, II of Lebanon, sister Hope Mangili, husband Vincent and nephews, Marcus, Lucas and Nicolas of Hingham, MA and sister, Maureen Misuraca, husband Matthew and niece, Sophia of La Quinta, CA.  He also leaves, his step mother, Charlotte Hebert of Windham, step brother, Robert Victor of East Haddam and step sister, Karyn Martyn, husband Michael and their daughters, Kayla and Jamey. Joel was educated in the Columbia and Windham school systems and was employed by General Cable prior to relocating to California, where he was employed by Scotty’s Absentee Home Care in Rancho Mirage, CA.  He was an avid fisherman and nature enthusiast. He had a gentle spirit and will be sadly missed by those who knew him best.

His family will receive family and friends at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte.195) Willimantic, CT 06226 on Saturday, April 15, 2017 with Visitation between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. followed by a service at 11:15 a.m. Interment will follow at the Columbia Center Cemetery, Route 87, Columbia, CT.
