Gladene May (Hansen) Fait

Death came to Gladene Hansen Fait on February 20, 2017 at her home in Storrs, CT.

Gladene was a caring and concerned person who was widely involved in the life of the town on both personal and community levels. She served in a number of leadership roles in local civic, service, and cultural organizations, among them the League of Women Voters, Commission of Aging, Senior Center, and school, town, and university libraries. In recognition of her contributions, Gladene was awarded the “Public Service Award” from the Secretary of State. She received a number of other awards from groups that had benefitted from her talents and competence. One of these, more than any other honor or award, sums up the character and personality of Gladene Fait: The Hartford Courant designation of her as one of our state’s “Good Neighbor”.

She was preceded in death by her husband Hollis Fait and son Gregory Fait. Surviving are Gerry Fait of Sausalito, CA, Janis and Jerald Dahlman of Stroudsburg, PA, Norris Fait of Anchorage, AK; also Kerry Landeck and Daniel Austin of Storrs, special friends lovingly regarded as family.
