Sending my condolences to Mr. Askew's family. My father and him worked together at Eastford Schol for many years and I very much enjoyed talking with Mr. Askew as a young kid. Also enjoyed seeing him at Camp Wabbaquassett.

George was the most pleasant person anyone was lucky enough to know. We looked forward to our visits. Dana spent many days and hours on Crystal Lake fishing, and when they were done cleaning their catch, Mary had breakfast or lunch waiting with fresh baked desserts. We (Arlene & Bruce) were fortunate enough to catch up with Mr. Askew when he visited my Mom & Dana. We often chatted about our younger years at Eastford Elementary, and made it known that he was the best teacher. He will be sadly missed by so many friends he made during his lifetime, and he will certainly never be forgotten as a friend and mentor to many. May you find comfort in knowing what a great man he truly was, and smile each time you reflect on your memories. Our deepest condolences to his family

I have great memories of Mr.Askew, I wasn't an A student but I certainly always enjoyed science, In High School I took 5 course over the 4 years I never could get enough science. I think it was Mr.A that really started me loving science. I too worked on the trail. My Son George Kerr also loved science and I think both George's held each other in high regard. You were one of my favorite teachers at Eastford School. You touched many people, Thanks for being a great person/teacher. I think of you often. Rip in Peace you were a wonderful man. To Mr. Askew's family, I'm so sorry for your loss. I have fond memories of Camp Wabbaquassett and running errands with him & Kimmy when I just a little kid. He was always very kind and had such a great sense of humor. Take comfort knowing a person that departs from this earth never truly leaves, for they are still alive in our hearts, through us, they live on. My condolences.

A great teacher, mentor, colleague and friend. Always had a way to fix things. Mr. A. also ran a great day camp at crystal pond. I remember the electric motors, solar boxes and other memorable science experiments. He made science and math enjoyable. I will take a hike on the George Askew trail behind the school this weekend in his memory. God Bless

My favorite teacher. As we crossed paths through the years, either at a restaurant or as my First Aid Instructor, he always remembered me. Thank you for your guidance, enthusiasm and friendliness Mr. Askew. You'll be missed.

George, or Mr. Askew, as I knew him was a great science teacher and Camp Director . He had such a great outlook on life. I remember him giving me a giant piece of watermelon for a watermelon eating contest. I didn’t win , but he must of know how much I loved watermelon.
