Elizabeth Hatem-King, 64, passed away on September 18, 2016, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.   She was born on August 4, 1952, daughter of the late Alma (Shakir) and Edward Hatem, in Lawrence, MA.  She grew up in East Hartford, Connecticut and graduated from Penney High School in 1969.  Elizabeth was a graduate of Eastern Connecticut State University with a major in Elementary Education and Music and continued her education.  She attended the University of Hartford Hartt School of Music and loved playing the piano.  Elizabeth brought joy and smiles and her love of life was always glowing.  Elizabeth worked at Action Blueprint in Manchester, CT for over 30 years as a Supervisor and Office Manager being active in the business and the community.

Elizabeth's passion was her family having moved to Andover, CT and residing in her home town of Andover for more than 30 years.  She hosted family holiday gatherings and Sunday dinner parties always bringing family and friends together with her gracious, loving hospitality.  She embraced life and was a proud loving grandmother, mother, wife, sister, aunt, and friend. 

Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Joseph King, her daughter, Michelle (King) Lorentz and her husband Brandon and grandson Hudson Lorentz, and her daughter Katelynn King.  She leaves her brothers and sisters, George Hatem, Kathleen Cataldi and husband Jim Cataldi, Edward Hatem and wife Pamela Hatem, sisters Alma Theresa Hatem, and Bertha Ann Hatem.  Elizabeth leaves many family members in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, many nieces and nephews, and other family members and dear friends.

Elizabeth shared her love with all of us and taught us how to treasure our times together.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your choice of The Jimmy Fund (jimmyfundwalk.org/2016/justinp), Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or the New Britain Hospital for Special Care Foundation. 

A Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 10:00am at St. Maurice Church in Bolton, CT. The family will receive friends one hour prior.  The burial will follow at Townsend Cemetery in Andover, CT.
