Eliezer Leon, also known as Eli, 57, died in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on May 27, 2016. He was born August 10, 1958 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to parents Herminia Leon Espada and Pedro Leon Garcia.
As a young man Eli lived in Willimantic, he then moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and has lived there for the last seventeen years. Eli was Assistant Pastor at Iglesia de Dios Pentecostal in Philadelphia, and enjoyed teaching the Bible. He also enjoyed fishing.
He was predeceased by his brothers Jerson Leon on November 17, 2004 and Luis Alfredo Rodriguez on April 10, 1996. Eli is survived by a daughter, Veronica Leon of East Hartford, as well as eleven brothers and sisters, Zoraida Cruz of Willimantic, Juan Cruz of Chicago, Illinois, Pedro Leon of Ponce, Puerto Rico, Juanita Vazquez of Chaplin, Jose Leon of Windham, William C. Leon of Longside, New Jersey, Ivan Leon of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Jesus Leon of Willimantic, Rebecca Leon of Lorraine, Ohio, Damaris Leon of Chaplin, and Samuel Leon of Sunrise, Florida, and a host of sisters and brothers in law, nieces, nephews, and many extended family and friends. Eli was a loyal soldier for Jesus Christ.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2016 from 5:00-7:00pm, at Iglesia Pentecostal Triunfo en La Fe Church, 7 Brook Street, Willimantic, CT 06226. The Funeral Service will be held Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 10:00am at the church, with Burial to follow in the New Willimantic Cemetery.
