Anna May (Nacsin) Lyman

April 9, 1922 ~ July 15, 2017 (age 95) 95 Years Old

Anna May (Nacsin) Lyman, 95, of Storrs, CT, beloved wife of the late Lyndon H. Lyman, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 15, 2017 in the presence of loved ones.  She was born April 9, 1922 in Willimantic, CT, the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Junior) Nacsin.  Upon marriage in 1946, Anna May and Lyn began their life together in Eagleville, CT, where they raised their five children.  Anna May’s love of the beach led to the decision to build a summer cottage in Snug Harbor, RI where she and Lyn spent summers with their children hosting many gatherings for family and friends.  Later they moved to Columbia, CT and, upon retirement, moved to Snug Harbor, RI, where they resided until 1999 when they moved back to Storrs, CT to be closer to their family.  Anna May and Lyn also enjoyed camping with family and many friends at Hidden Acres Campground in Preston, CT.  Anna May was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker always putting her family before herself.  She was hardworking and disciplined in her daily responsibilities.  She was the “Foundation” of the family with her deep and abiding faith which she instilled in her children.  Anna May’s greatest passions were music and dancing, which always brought her to her feet.  She loved a good game of setback (which she always seemed to win!).  She was also an avid fan of the UConn Huskies and Boston Red Sox.   The last years of her life were spent with dedicated caregivers who adored her lively spirit and sense of humor and who were inspired by her zest for life.  Anna is survived by two daughters, Jane Cichon, of Storrs and Lisa O’Rourke and her husband Martin of Columbia; a son, James Lyman and his wife Susan of Columbia; six grandchildren, Carol Warfield and her husband Bruce, Lori Kalinowski – Fournier and her husband Henry, David Kalinowski, Jared Cichon and his wife Angela, Taylor O’Rourke and Drew Lyman; five great grandchildren, Joseph, Louis and David Warfield, and Anthony and Owen Cichon; two sons-in-law, Robert Kalinowski and Wayne McKinney.  She was predeceased by her daughters, Lynda Kalinowski and Nancy Easton, brothers John, Andrew and Steve Nacsin and her sister, Mary Konikowski.  There are no calling hours.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 11:00am at St. Joseph Church Eagleville, 875 Stafford Rd.(Rt. 32) Storrs, CT, with assembly at the church.  Burial to follow at Pink Cemetery in Mansfield, CT.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mansfield Volunteer Fire Department c/o 4 South Eagleville Road, Storrs, CT 06268.   For an online memorial guestbook please visit www.potterfuneralhome.com.
